Dr. Pat Meye is the founder and co-director of the Renewing Life Center.  She has done pastoral care in both the church and counseling setting for twenty eight years here in Las Vegas and in California.  Pat and her husband Doug were the founding pastors of Warm Springs Baptist Church.  She has a special emphasis in crisis and spiritual formation.  Pat and Doug have two children, a son in college in California, and a daughter in high school. 

Mark Whelchel M.S. MFT

Mark Whelchel is the co-director of the Renewing Life Center.  He has served as a Pastor in Las Vegas for over twenty seven years and he has served on several non-profit boards. Mark is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and his educational background includes a B.A. in church growth from Hope International University and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.  He has a special emphasis in treating couples, but he also enjoys working with individuals and families.  Mark and his wife Christie have been married for over 20 years and they have been blessed with four children.

Pastoral Counselors:

Kevin Scott

Kevin Scott has been in full-time ministry since 1994 and is the founding pastor of The Stream in Las Vegas. Prior to starting The Stream, Kevin worked in college campus ministry and served on various missions in Africa, England, and in urban areas in the U.S.  He continues to serve as the Pastor of The Stream and as an associate staff member with Worldwide Discipleship Association (WDA) - an organization that provides resources and training to individuals and churches to assist people in the process of spiritual formation. Kevin and his wife Lauren have been married for more than ten years and they have three children.

Kathy Houston-Hencken

Kathy Houston-Hencken has over twenty years of experience in counseling, both in independent private practice and with Samaritan Counseling Centers. She has been licensed in Texas as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1996.  Kathy also serves as an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas where her husband Jim is the Senior Pastor. Kathy and Jim have two children.

Multi-Disciplinary Team

The multi-disciplinary team at Renewing Life Center promotes a cooperative learning environment and offers four different types of counselors:

Marriage and Family Therapists - State licensed Masters level therapists with training in family systems, individual, couple and family therapy.

Pastoral Counselors - Ordained Pastors with educational backgrounds ranging from Masters to Doctoral levels with extensive experience in pastoral care and counseling.

Licensed Clinical Psychologists - State licensed Clinical Psychologists with training in psychological testing and counseling.

Marriage and Family Therapist Interns - Pre and Post Graduate interns working towards state licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists.
